Our members include accomplished authors, conference speakers, television hosts, magazine publishers, filmmakers, influential bloggers, creators of popular podcasts, and successful YouTubers. We have a track record of success in diverse areas of communication, spanning from books and screenplays to social media.


AWSA Wants to Mentor and Support You as You Write Your First Book!

The organization was founded in 2000 by best-selling author Linda Evans Shepherd and is under the umbrella of Straight from the Heart D.B.A. Right to the Heart Ministries, a 501 (c) 3.

We want to reach back to help our Christian women proteges write their first book.

We support our proteges with dedicated training from our professional authors members, as well as a group coaching program, and a book publishing course to help them avoid the pitfalls and scams.

What Does AWSA Protege Membership Include?

  1. You'll receive our monthly newsletters filled with opportunities for fellowship and training.

  2. You will be invited to attend our live online events like AWSA Connect, various courses, and our Christmas party.

  3. Invitation to attend our yearly AWSA conference with our published authors.

  4. The chance to attend the Christian Product Expo to meet editors, publishers, and bookstore owners.

  5. Invitation to work with our trained writing and speaking coaches.

  6. You will get a link to watch a wonderful video class called Story Telling for Writers and Speakers by AWSA Steering Committee President Karen Porter.

  8. You'll receive an invitation to  join in our Power Call, a montly group training program which includes trainings by published authors.*

* The Power Call is an add-on programs, not included in the cost of your basic membership package.  You must belong to our AWSA Protege Membership to gain access to our AWSA Protege Power Calls.
